PANUI TO OUR WHANAU – RESIGNATION OF CEO JIM SMILLIE FROM NGĀTIWAI TRUST BOARD

The Ngātiwai Trust Board wishes to announce to our whanau that we have received the resignation of our CEO Jim Smillie, which has been accepted by the Trust Board.  Mr. Smillie’s resignation is effective immediately.

Ngātiwai Trust Board would like to acknowledge the Leadership and the contribution Mr. Smillie has made to the development of Ngātiwai Trust Board during his 5 year tenure as CEO.  We wish Jim and his whanau all the best for the future.

We will begin recruitment of a new CEO in the New Year.  Until a new candidate is confirmed for the role, we have appointed Chief Financial Officer Angeline Waetford as acting CEO.   Angeline has the full support of the Trust Board and we know she is more than capable of fulfilling this position.  We hope you can give her your full support while she is in this role.

Angeline is honored to be offered the role of acting CEO and says that she will continue the strategic focus of the Ngātiwai Trust Board, which is “to strengthen the wellbeing and prosperity of Te iwi O Ngātiwai.”  Angeline personally thanks Jim for his support and guidance during their time working together at the Trust Board.

These are exciting and challenging times ahead for us as an Iwi, and I reiterate that together we will be able to build on the vision of our Tūpuna with the pathway that has been opened for our people.

If you have any questions relating to this change, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Naku, noa na
