Over the weekend Tamaki based Kawa Marae Chair Jan Piahana shared an amazing little story of community support in Auckland.

Jan says “We would like to extend a big Thank you to Life Church who donated 150 meals to the Ngātiwai ki Tāmaki Support line for our kaumātua living in Tāmaki Makaurau.”

The meals donated by Life church were pre made frozen meals that our kaumātua could just pull out ready to heat in the microwave.

Jan says “They are my neighbors, so it was via contactless delivery from the fence.”

Whaea Mere’s daughter Katrina said to Jan “you\’re doing a great service and we tautoko ngā mahi koe i ngā kaumātua me ngā whanaunga o Ngātiwai ki roto Papakura/Manukau me ngā Tāmaki Makaurau rohe.

The Ngātiwai Trust Board extends a big mihi to Jan, her team and her community networks she is linked into for the mahi they are doing to support Ngātiwai uri in and around Auckland during Level 4 Lockdown.
